Moab weekend
Mon Apr 25 2005 22:15 MDT #Went to Moab this weekend. Nathan's mom Joan was in SLC and we met her halfway in Moab, home of Canyonlands, Arches and the Garlic Burger (and more importantly, Sweet Potato Fries).
We took Thor to his fourth state and completed his tour of the Four Corners states. He also went to his first national park ever. He stayed in the car most of the time, and got a couple of walks on the paved parking lots (that is all pets are allowed to do). He also managed to roll around in some Utahan dirt as well - fortunately it was not the delicate cryptobiotic soil. That wouldn't be very satisfying to roll around in anyway.
In case you are wondering, Thor travels wearing a harness and gets walked with a lead nowadays. He's getting quite used to it, and people marvel at how their cat would never do this. Thor is suchhh a good cat.
We ate dinner at The Broken Oar in Moab one night. I ordered the Big Hummer Garlic Burger - which is a large burger with a thick smear of almost raw garlic. Oh man. That garlic was so strong it like burnt my mouth. I scraped most of it off, but I still spent the night being woken up by my bad breath, until 3 in the morning or so, when the tide turned and it seemed to go away. Thank goodness for digestion. Also, Thor finally slept with us on our bed and I was afraid I would drive him away with my garlic breath. I think Nathan was happy for the buffer.
