leaving

We're on our way to Malta today. The last few weeks have been very stressful at work with all the last minute work to do, mostly because of course it is always a bad idea to show off a beta version of a web site at a conference.

And the hardware on our beta server failed so we had to move servers two days ago and it introduced new bugs.

Anyway, there isn't that much I can do anymore but make it through the next 5 days or so. Then finally i have vacation. Ah vacation.

We're headed to Istanbul next Thursday and will stay there a week, then go back to Malta for 4 days. Nathan will be enjoying Malta all week and will figure out the must-see sights for me since I will be slaving away at the database workshops.

I have to say, I'm never quite sure if all this stress is worth the free trip. It may be free in terms of money, but not in terms of mental stress... I'm sure afterwards I'll be glad I went.

But soon, in a few hours, I'll be on a flight to London and can fall asleep with my Bucky eye-mask and half an Ambien.
