my week...

After a very dry July, it finally started raining. Well, it rained yesterday. Who knows if it will keep up. This morning it actually felt kind of cool out. Last night we went to see a talk by The Cat Therapist at the Santa Fe Public Library. We learned the main solution to most cat problems is to get the cat a little feral kitten of its own. Basically - you want the kitten to need your cat, not you. That way your cat will like the kitten. Of course, this is not always the solution to cat problems - mostly for the single-cat problems of the world. Also, cats can "smell" the different colors of fur - so cats tend to like other cats that smell like them. So if you get a kitten for a black cat, make sure the kitten has black in it.

This technique is also supposed to work for puppies in theory - as in, we could get Thor his own puppy. Perhaps a half-wolf pup with tabby stripes? :-)

I've been busy lately - I am trying to get the flu website updated for our upcoming workshops in Malta in a month. Of course it always comes down to the wire.

What else - we've been driking tons of espresso from our new machine, and have discovered that Illy does indeed make some of the best espresso out there. We picked up a can of ground Illy at Cost Plus last weekend. Yesterady we received the first shipment of our Sweet Maria's Espresso Subscription, and that turned out quite well. We signed up for two pounds of coffee beans once a month. This month we got Liquid Amber blend, a secret blend that includes even a little bit of Robusta. One coffee I do not like - Trader Joe's ground Espresso. I think it smells (and tastes) of paint with a hint of dirt. It comes in a dark metal can.
